Man from Port Hueneme found guilty of sexually assaulting woman with Alzheimer's disease

On April 24, a jury found a man from Port Hueneme guilty of raping a vulnerable individual, described as a female suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Arrest follows fentanyl-related incident during pursuit in Ventura

On April 26, a man was taken into custody and charged with several offenses after being reportedly observed tossing what was identified as fentanyl from the Victoria Avenue overpass down to Highway 126 in Ventura.

Police stated that they caught the 34-year-old Ventura inhabitant in the 4700 block of Nielsen Street, located southeast of Camilo Real Park, following a short chase that started close to Balboa Middle School. The individual reportedly escaped on a bike but crashed into a patrol car which officers had employed to obstruct him. Despite falling down, he didn’t suffer from any injuries and was arrested according to what the Ventura Police Department reported in an official statement.

The police believe he might be the individual who was spotted earlier that day by a local resident messing with a car at an apartment complex close to the Ventura County Government Center.

He was incarcerated on suspicion of two felony offenses: possessing a hard drug and having intent to sell a controlled substance. According to jail documents, he faced additional misdemeanor accusations including vandalizing a vehicle, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and hiding evidence.

He is being held in lieu of $130,000 bail in in the main jail in Ventura, jail records show.
