ALBANY, N.Y. — The 18th Annual Neighborhood Food & Fund Drive hosted by the Regional Food Bank in Albany has successfully collected thousands of food items and hygiene products throughout the Capital Region.
In total, 12,500 bags were handed out to the local population, allowing 100 leaders to gather provisions such as food, toiletries, and funds. Subsequently, these resources were dispatched to those in need. Regional Food Bank , where volunteers unloaded and organized them for distribution to those who needed assistance.
Arin Keutey, who manages food industry partnerships for the Regional Food Bank, stressed the significance of diversity in their selections. "We make an effort to include many culturally varied items such as various spices, grains, flours, and seasonings. However, with needs being higher than ever before, every contribution matters," stated Keutey.
The food bank expected to gather around 36,000 pounds of provisions, enough to supply 30,000 meals for the local population.
