EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Healthcare workers and emergency responders gathered unused prescription medications with the aim of stopping unfortunate incidents from occurring.

Local residents stated that National Drug Take-Back Day helps fight against the opioid crisis.

It’s about removing excess medication from households where it might be misused, which is a significant win for our community," stated Public Health Educator and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Julia Maurer.
